Grow your own veggies! We have a great variety of seeds to grow amazing fresh vegetables! Choose from the varieties below:

  • Patio Snacker Cucumber: Patio Snacker cucumber seeds produce compact little plants that grow to only 90-150cm (36-60"), but producing numerous full-sized slicing cucumbers from mid-summer on. Trellis the little plants, or try them in a hanging basket and allow the short vines to spill over the sides. The fruits will develop hanging in space, so they will e straight and perfectly round in cross section. Patio Snacker was bred with the small-space gardener in mind, so it's ideal for balcony growing. Be sure to keep the plants picked so that new flowers and fruits continue to come. Matures in 50-55 days. (Hybrid seeds)

  • Mercury Cucumber: This was a real standout in cucumber trials for both flavour and productivity. Choose Mercury cucumber seeds for exceptionally early beit alpha type cucumbers. The fruits are 20cm (8") long with thin, shiny, dark skins, and crisp, sweet, flavourful flesh. The seeds are small in a tight seed cavity. Plants are very productive both outdoors and in the greenhouse, but were bred with open field growing in mind. Lots of fruits develop on each plant in one relatively concentrated set. They are suitable for pickling when picked immature, but they make fine slicers at full size. Matures in 55 days. (Hybrid seeds)

  • Eggplant Blend: This premium variety pack includes five different eggplants, from the large black to the petite streaked, to the long pale types. Ideal for containers, this blend reveals the diversity of these easy-to-grow fruits. Choose three to five gallon pots or larger, or try them in a raised bed. Well-drained soil is important, but so is good air circulation. Start Eggplant Blend eggplant seeds indoors in April, and harvest from mid-June into early September. While it's true that eggplants appreciate hot weather, it's a misconception that they are difficult to grow on the coast. Matures in 55-80 days. (Open-pollinated seeds & Hybrid seeds)

  • Black Beauty Zucchini: The standard summer squash, introduced in the 1920s. Large bush plants grow semi-upright and open, and are loaded with glossy dark green fruits with firm creamy white flesh and fine flavour. Plants are productive very early, and over a long period. Best eaten when under 20cm (8" long). Black Beauty zucchini seeds are the best variety for freezing. Black Beauty zucchini is a 20th Century heirloom that won the All American Selections prize back in 1957. It was first introduced to American market growers in the 1920s, and was commercially available as seed from the 1930s on. Matures in 60 days. (Open pollinated seeds)

  • Yellowfin Zucchini: CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Golden fruits with smooth skins, rich flavour, and a buttery interior texture. The fruits are uniformly and evenly thick along their length, produced on open, bushy plants. The plants themselves boast a high resistance to powdery mildew and Cucumber Mosaic Virus. The plants and their copious fruits are nearly spineless. Plant Yellowfin Organic zucchini seeds in rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Dig finished compost or well-rotted manure into the beds, and dig in 1 cup of complete organic fertilizer beneath each transplant. Water the soil around them when you irrigate, and always avoid overhead watering, as wet leaves will attract foliar diseases. The leaves of Yellowfin may also turn yellow. This is the same genetic expression that makes the fruits yellow. It should not be a cause for concern. Matures in 50 days. (Hybrid seeds)

  • Gold Rush Yellow Beans: Glorious flavour and crisp texture make Gold Rush bush bean seeds a great choice for pickling and freezing. The beans are bright yellow with green tips. They are borne in clusters around the stem which makes them easy to pick. The stringless pods are perfect at 10-12cm (4-5”) long. The medium sized bush plants are resistant to BCMV and tolerant of root rot.  Wax beans have a pleasant, mild flavour and make a lovely change from regular green beans. Matures in 58 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

  • Super Sugar Snap Peas: This is an improved Sugar Snap variety. The 8cm (3") long, fat, dark-green pods are the sweetest of our snap peas. The crunchy pods are excellent for eating cooked or raw. Super Sugar snap pea seeds produce vigorous climbing vines that should be trellised, and will easily grow 2m (6') or more in good soil. Although Super Sugar Snap is not resistant to the enation virus that sometimes spreads in coastal gardens by mid-summer, it is an excellent candidate for earlier sowing - as early as February in a mild spring. Enjoy the trouble free, easy-to-harvest peas in June and July. Matures in 62-70 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)
