  • Astro Arugula: CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Astro organic arugula seeds produce a plant with leaves that are less lobed and more strap-like. It has a milder flavour than regular arugula. Astro is perfect for baby greens in early spring and fall - even in winter, as it's very cold hardy. Baby greens are ready to cut in only 21 days. Arugula is very well suited to micro-green growing. As micro-greens it is delicious and tender, strongly flavoured, but delicate on the palate. With a nutty, spicy taste that is sometimes pungent or peppery, arugula really perks up salads, sandwiches, and even pizza. It is very cold hardy, and has a milder flavour when grown in cool weather. High in Vitamin A and potassium. Matures in 30-40 days.(Open-pollinated seeds)

  • Palla Rossa Radicchio: This reliable radicchio forms a gorgeous, firm, round, dark-red and white head which appears like a jewel when you pull aside the tattered clump of outer wrapping leaves. With a unique and tangy taste, it adds flavour, colour, and crisp texture to salads. Palla Rossa Special Chicory Seeds can be planted for summer or fall harvest. Cut the heads at the soil level, and it may regrow. Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Matures in 85 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

  • Lacinato Organic Kale: Sow Lacinato Organic kale seeds in the spring and early summer. A most elegant looking vegetable, the long, dark green leaves shoot from the central stem like ostrich plumes. A stunning addition to the ornamental vegetable garden, it grows 1m (3') tall with deeply blistered, strap-like leaves that are frost hardy, but tender when cooked. Lacinato is often referred to as Dinosaur Kale due to its large size and distinctive, prehistoric look. It is an heirloom descendent of Mediterranean kale. Plant Lacinato Organic kale seeds in your organic vegetable garden and harvest this popular and nutritious superfood from summer to late fall. Matures in 65 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

  • Buttercrunch Lettuce: We love the flavour and delicate texture of the leaves for lettuce wraps! Buttercrunch butterhead lettuce seeds are a Bibb type lettuce that forms a tight little rosette of soft, dark-green, upward-facing leaves surrounding a tender, pale centre. The small hearts don't become bitter in hot weather. Later plantings stand well into fall and make good growth in spring cold frames. Buttercrunch lettuce is a good candidate for growing all winter if you can provide cloche or greenhouse protection, or even a simple cold frame. Sow some extra early indoors in February for transplanting to the cold frame in March. Matures in 67 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

  • Yu Choi: Brassica rapa var. chinensis. Yu Tsai Sum is a type of choi sum. This summer crop is also known as Yu Choi. Grown for tender flower bud stalks (yellow flowers) and glossy, bright green leaves, it is mild and sweet when cooked briefly. Stems will be 0.5-1cm (.25") thick if grown and watered well. This variety was tops in our trials for both taste and texture. For large plants, sow in rows 30-45cm (12-18") apart. Cut the flower bud stalk with a few leaves - new shoots will grow from a leaf axil. Plant Yu Tsai Sum seeds in early summer, up to 6 weeks before frost. Early spring plantings may bolt. Matures in 40-60 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)
